Thom Browne played his cards close to his chest with his new womenswear collection for spring 2011, only allowing a smattering of detail shots to be fed to the Internet’s jaws by Tommy Ton, but full-length images of the whole collection have now surfaced. As expected, it’s chock-full of menswear-inspired tailoring, but with unpredictable (and pretty amazing-looking) twists: One gray-flannel dress looks like a blazer from the bodice up, only to be nipped into a pleated skirt at the waist; many skirts are long, full, and feature shirttail-esque layers at the hem. For those yearning for femininity, ladylike touches include knee-length strands of pearls, tulle-stuffed bustles, and a blazer studded with tiny bows. [Fashionologie]
