Under Armour signed a multi-year deal with the New England Patriots quarterback, who, some NFL players think, looks like a girl. This is a coup for Brady, who is selling his manliness for an undisclosed stake in the company despite his controversial lush, flowing locks. “He had the chance to be ‘the guy’ vs. Nike, which has a stable of athletes from Michael Jordan to Tiger Woods,” Burns Entertainment and Sports Marketing president Marc Ippolito notes. Brady, who already makes an estimated $7 to $10 million in other endorsement deals (on top of his $18 million-per-season salary), will appear in the label’s in-store and print ads beginning in the new year, with his television commercials airing next summer. Brady will also wear Under Armour shoes and apparel during training, and a new customized cleat during games. As long as he stays away from publicly pairing the brand’s skintight pieces with his long hair, this should be great for him.
