At the British Fashion Awards today, photographer and videographer Nick Knight presented a short film tribute to Alexander McQueen, who was honored with a posthumous award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design. The clip is set to a soundtrack by Björk and features McQueen’s most iconic pieces, styled by Edward Enninful and worn by black models only. “We felt it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the museum takes them away,” said Knight, referring to the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is mounting a retrospective exhibition of Alexander McQueen’s work this spring.
