Cintra Wilson: Shopping at the Brook Farm General Store Is Like ‘Being Tucked Lovingly Into a Soft-Boiled Egg’

For anyone who might think that Cintra Wilson hates every store she ever reviews, behold the rare exception: She LOVED Brook Farm General Store in Williamsburg, which inspired her to wax poetic about “warm sheets stacked on ironing boards, pies cooling on windowsills, Mason jars full of last summer’s gooseberries, and cans of Old Dutch Cleanser under the sink.” But her highest moment of praise is not when she likens the salesgirl to “a silent-movie heroine rescued by Mounties” — nay, it involves breakfast food: “Over all, the first impression is a feeling similar to being tucked lovingly into a soft-boiled egg.” [NYT]
