At the age of 14, rookie Hereith Paul walked into an open-call casting in her hometown of Ottawa, and got herself signed on the spot. Now, the 16-year-old is represented by Women Direct, under the watchful eye of nineties “It” model turned model booker Jenny Shimizu. Paul stayed mostly under the radar during her spring 2011 debut, walking for Phillip Lim and Lacoste, but she’s now poised to hit it big in 2011. The Tanzania-born, Canada-raised model is featured in Diesel’s new spring campaign, and she also walked in Lanvin’s pre-fall show last week. Most impressively, Steven Meisel has taking a liking to her delicate, gamine looks, shooting her for Italian Vogue’s January issue alongside the likes of Freja Beha and Fei Fei Sun.
