As predicted, designer Rebecca Taylor and her business partner, Elizabeth Bugdaycay, who founded their company together fifteen years ago, will continue running the label under Kellwood’s ownership. No financial specifics were released about the acquisition deal, which closed yesterday, but the company’s volume is estimated to be in the $45 million range. Meanwhile, Kellwood is already eyeing its next purchase: President Michael Kramer said that they’re in talks to buy the label Gryphon, which is designed by former Vogue editor Aimee Cho. His plans for Rebecca Taylor include expanding the label’s shoes and accessories lines, as well as adding intimates.
