American photographer Mark Seliger might best be known for his portrait work in Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. But in his new book Listen, Seliger’s exacting lens captures everything from decaying birds to head shots of body-piercing enthusiasts. Yet the series of intimate photographs (reproductions of platinum-plated prints) convey a strong sense of warmth and melancholy, despite the somewhat dark subject matter.
