“I told her, ‘You are my hero,’ and she said to me, ‘You are my hero.’ I said, ‘Lady Gaga, don’t joke with me. But at least leave me some outfits from the show,’” Anna Dello Russo told WWD at the Mugler women’s show this week, which was Gaga’s stylist Nicola Formichetti’s first for the house since becoming creative director. Some have noted that Gaga, who walked in the show, takes attention away from the line — but she also brings it more attention than it ever could get without her, which is not a bad thing for a newly revived brand. “I just wanted to bring the fun back. It’s not so much about the clothes,” Formichetti even told the International Herald Tribune’s Suzy Menkes, who wrote that Gaga upstaged everyone else on that runway.
