First Looks: Gap’s Fall 2011 Collection

Patrick Robinson has said that every season he would like to go beyond the basic American staples that Gap is known for and give more fashion direction little by little. This season, his strategy includes adding leather to essentials like skirts, leggings, and jeans, all in different styles and cuts. He has also been developing his pants line, which he introduced a few seasons ago, in softer colors like grey and navy. The new cuts included the ubiquitous shape seen on the new French Vogue regime: bell-bottom flares. Many editors at the presentation were excited by the Gap shoes (not Pierre Hardy collaborations) which included classic styles like knee-high boots, short flat boots, and for the more adventurous, five-inch-high clogs.
