At last night’s inaugural Good Shepherd Services spring party, Isaac Mizrahi posed for pictures in slip-on Nike sandals that showed off his glittery polished toes. “I always do nail polish on my toes,” he explained. “I’ve done it for 25 years. It’s like a secret! Even in the winter, I can’t stand to look down unless my toes are done. And I can stand to look at a lot of ugly things on my body, obviously, but I can’t stand it if my toes are not good. I can stand to be like, 15 pounds overweight, but I can’t stand when my toes are bad. This is a new color for me — this gold, pink thing. It’s like a copper.” As for his involvement with the charity, which provides mentoring to disadvantaged children, Mizrahi explains, “I got involved because of my shrink, where a lot of things begin with me actually. I told them, ‘My life has no meaning, basically.’ He was like, ‘Here’s this phone number for you to call.’ I called Good Shepherds. I met this young lady named Ashley, and I’ve been mentor to her for about eight years. And now my life has meaning. Seriously.”
Coco Rocha was also in attendance with her husband James Conran. Having just changed the name of her Twitter account, she said she’s working on tweeting more often. “I mean, I try to do it frequently, every day … [but] only if there’s something funny going on. I’m not one of those people, like, ‘eating a peanut butter and jelly’, or, ‘I tied my shoelace.’ When something interesting or funny happens, I might go to town. Otherwise, I’m not really one of those people that are like, ‘putting on my shoes, going out the door.’”
