Last year, Alber Elbaz’s birthday passed without much fanfare (his birthday cake met an untimely end on his hotel-room carpet, he told us), but this year’s was much more festive: A fabulous surprise party was thrown for him last night at the Central Park Boathouse (right near his new apartment at the Apthorp). Kim Hastreiter D.J.’ed, bright pink flowers were everywhere, and Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo blogged about it afterwards. [5th/58th]
