The girl who lost her pants, gained a Galliano contract, and then lost her Gossip Girl one works still in fashion, that industry that is always there to rescue the entertainment industry’s fallen angels. (See also: Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, and, well, keep your eye on John Galliano.) As Taylor Momsen’s representation, Tim Gunn, and magazine editors leave her half-naked, regrettably with guns, in a role that is always casting — young celebrity female gawking object — she picks up a new contract, a new dress, and a kicky new pair of white ankle boots for her gig as the face of the Japanese line Samantha Thavasa, which also boasts a line by fellow once-celebrated-now-ostracized blonde Tinsley Mortimer. In her role as promotional model, Momsen appeared at a promotional event in Japan for the line over the weekend, where she publicly fondled the brand’s handbags and did an interview where she awkwardly explained that she doesn’t follow trends, personally, but is excited about long skirts being the new “thing” because they will balance out her usual pantslessness.
