Regardless of whether or not Amy Winehouse should have been considered a fashion icon, she made an undeniable impression on the industry during her heyday. She established her signature look — mussy beehive hair, black cat-eye makeup, and short, tight, cleavage-flaunting dresses — by late 2006, and it was soon echoed on the Dior and Chanel runways of 2007 and 2008. Winehouse may have struggled with her wayward lifestyle, but she never deviated from her strong, unmistakeable look, wearing short skirts and cinched-waist jackets to court in 2009 and maintaining her thick, dark bouffant at all times.
