The Beckhams’ New Baby Has Boosted Sales for Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird

The Beckhams apparently named their newborn daughter after the author Harper Lee, explained David Beckham in a video posted on Facebook: “Victoria’s favorite book is ‘To Kill A Mockingbird,’ and the author was Harper Lee. It’s a very strong, passionate book. That’s where Harper came from.” In the last few days, the Pulitzer Prize–winning novel has risen to No. 38 on the U.K.’s best-seller list, and its sales have increased by 123 percent on Amazon.co.uk.
