Macy’s Fined for Hazardous Children’s Clothing; eBay’s ‘You Can’t Fake Fashion’ Sale Went Awry

• Bags designed by Tory Burch , Jason Wu, and Tommy Hilfiger, among others, were sold on eBay yesterday as part of the company’s “You Can’t Fake Fashion” campaign. The sale was supposed to start at 11 a.m., but a computer glitch reportedly made it start early, and so many e-shoppers planning to snap up the bags missed out. Sad times. [Page Six/NYP]

• Macy’s has been fined $750,000 for selling childrenswear with drawstrings at the neck — a design feature that was made illegal in 2008 due to safety concerns. [WWD]
