After British Vogue reported this morning that Galliano was in talks with the chain to do a clothing line, the retailer suggestively tweeted, “It’s incredible how rumors get started!” Philip Green, the chain’s owner, got in touch with British Vogue to deny the report personally: “I saw John Galliano at Kate’s wedding last Friday. I did not discuss any business with him then, nor have I since.” The Topshop press office also denied the report. Could such an emphatic denial suggest Galliano’s comeback won’t be, well, that easy?
