Sperry Topsider, the original boat-shoe brand that made boat shoes before rag & bone and all these other labels started putting them on the runways, will open its first-ever New York store on Fifth Avenue — where they belong — in building number 103, currently occupied by Juicy Couture. As though reaffirming the classic nature and everlasting wearability of the boat shoe, Sperry signed a ten-year lease on the 5,000-square-foot space, brokers say.
