So many biographies of Coco Chanel come out each decade that each has to find it’s own thing to sensationalize about her life. The writer of Coco Chanel: an Intimate Life took the bisexual drug user angle. And in Sleeping with the Enemy: Coco Chanel’s Secret War, Hal Vaughan takes the Jew hater angle. Calling Coco “fiercely” anti-Semitic, Vaughan says she even worked for the Nazis in World War II. The book also says she had a love affair with Baron Hans Gunther von Dincklage, who “reported directly to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, right hand of Hitler.”
