For several years, New York was the world’s number one fashion capital, according to Global Language Monitor, a Texas-based analytics group that tracks word usage trends on the Internet to establish who is number one at stuff. However, this year, New York must relinquish its spot to London, about which much more is being written thanks to Kate Middleton and Alexander McQueen, the label she wore to wed in and the designer whose work was remembered most momentously at the Met in a spectacular exhibit this summer (which a few sites are lobbying to have go on tour). London is up from third place, while other strong performers include Los Angeles, actually.
