Fashion Group International held its Night of Stars party last night at Cipriani Wall Street, where honorees included Raf Simons, Giambattista Valli, Daphne Guinness, and Amar’e Stoudemire. Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, who were elected to the CFDA board this week, were also in attendance. Their very first board meeting is coming up, and the agenda will probably include the fashion calendar debacle. “It’s a tricky subject, and we have to discuss it amongst ourselves and see what makes the most sense,” said McCollough. “We’re also part of the judging committee of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund,” added Hernandez. “We’re a little young to be doing all this, but you know, they’ve asked us and of course we said yes.” Will they have parties for new CFDA members in their house? “Like Donna Karan? Maybe,” laughed Hernandez.
