
Monaco’s new princess, Charlene Wittstock, wears Akris often. She even wore Akris to Kate Middleton’s wedding to Prince William in the spring — her most important look next to her own wedding dress, obviously — and seeks advice from the designer, Albert Kriemler, about her outfits. Charlene’s appearance in the front row of the Akris fashion show over the weekend, just one seat down from Anna Wintour, was momentous, because usually the famous people in the front row at fashion shows are publicity-seeking or contracted celebrities. Wittstock was merely taking a break from being princess. And with the show being Grand Prix–themed, she had a Monaco-related reason for being there, kind of.
