This year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner is Joseph Altuzarra, which means he gets a pantload of money ($300,000, to be exact) and lots of mentoring opportunities with other CFDA members. Altuzarra’s victory isn’t a huge surprise; his star has steadily risen since he founded his label in 2009, and his most recent collection received excellent reviews. The runners-up are jeweler Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Chris Peters, whose respective companies each receive $100,000. Just like last year, J.Crew has partnered with the fund, which means there will hopefully be some sort of collaborative project between the winners and the retailer again (J.Crew president Jenna Lyons was on the award’s selection committee).  This year’s other nominees were Suno’s Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis; Carlos Campos; Antonio Azzuolo of A.A. Antonio Azzuolo; Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs of Cushnie et Ochs; Ohne Titel’s Alexa Adams and Flora Gill; Fenton/Fallon’s Dana Lorenz, and Soraya Silchenstedt of Finn Jewelry. We’ll have more details on the party for you in a bit.
