The Times notes that the haircut popular in thirties Germany has made a comeback with hipster types. The style, which consists of shaved sides and a long forelock slicked back with pomade, is usually referred to as the “Hitler Youth,” according to a West Village hairdresser (who was hesitant to admit the name, understandably). The Times tactfully suggests some alternative titles, like “modified McSqueeb” and “J. Edgar Hoover.” We’d like to add “limp mohawk” and “wayward mushroom cut.”
