“I like anything with a five-inch or higher heel,” Serena Williams announced at last night’s Footwear News Achievement Awards, which were held at the Museum of Modern Art. “I tried to get Nike to create a heel for me that I could wear playing tennis, but I don’t think it quite works. So then we tried to create a shoe with the illusion of a heel,” she explained. As you can imagine, that didn’t work either.
