Design duo Shipley & Halmos has stretched beyond fashion in the past year, collaborating on everything from art prints to stationery. This month, they’re dipping into the beauty realm as well with CO/FL, their debut scent, produced by Brooklyn perfumers D.S. & Durga. The unisex fragrance references their childhood homes in Colorado and South Florida. (“Suntan lotion” and “alpine snow” provided the original inspiration — thankfully, the resulting scent smells nothing like Coppertone). The hand-mixed fragrance features top notes of sand pine, myrtle, and osmanthus, with base notes of ambergris and musk. It’s spicy and fresh without being overtly masculine or overwhelming. Only 99 bottles are being produced, available at Bird.
