Fade Into the Wallpaper Next Summer

After seasons of artful print mismatching, which has inevitably become almost mandatory for any aspiring street style star, designers decided to go matchy-matchy in their pre-fall collections. Doo.Ri’s abstract take on a floral print extended into matching patterned booties. At Pringle of Scotland, Alistair Carr evolved spring’s splashy techno florals by taking a digital spin to animal prints. Over at DKNY, the look was a literal take on blending into the wallpaper, with a dark floral-on-floral pairing that wouldn’t look out of place as a fancy wall covering. Given the incredible popularity of print mixing last September, don’t find it surprising to see this look become de rigueur among the Tommy Ton set come Fashion Week.
