Asking rents for retail spaces are rising in major shopping areas. Lower Fifth Avenue, from 42nd Street to 49th Street, has risen 50.2 percent in the last quarter to $865 per square foot, and prices are up in Times Square and on Madison Avenue as well. Valentino signed a deal with Italian e-tailer Yoox Group for a project called “Reserve From the Runway.” A selection of apparel and accessories from the fall men’s collection (which shows today) will be made exclusively available on the Yoox virtual multibrand store Thecorner.com starting on Thursday.
