Word games with MADE fashion week designers continue, and Marcia Patmos of M.Patmos is up to bat. Her muse for fall? Native American women from the early twentieth century, as seen in photographer Edward S. Curtis’ book The Women. “They just looked so modern to me, even though the photos are over a hundred years old. They’re very graphic, with really interesting detailing,” she said. This translated to a showing of Patmos’ signature knitwear, rendered in all sorts of colors — from neutrals to stark black and white, to saturated hot pinks and reds — punctuated with leather and silks for an organic, textural feel. Afterward, Patmos — who also debuted two collaborations this season, one with footwear giant Manolo Blahnik and the other with jewelry label TenThousandThings — did some hard thinking about the word separates.
