Belgian designer Raf Simons blows a kiss to the audience as he cries at the end of the Jil Sander Fall-winter 2012-2013 collection on February 25, 2012 during the Women’s fashion week in Milan. The company announced the day before German fashion designer Jil Sander is set to make a return to the company that bears her name nearly eight years after resigning, with Simons leaving his position of creative director on February 27. One of the many rumors currently flying around about Raf Simons is that he left Jil Sander to beef up his eponymous label. Some folks speculated that he was in talks with Italian licensee Aeffe SpA, which owns Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, and Jean Paul Gaultier, but Aeffe chairman Massimo Ferretti cleared that up yesterday at the Cedric Charlier show in Paris. “We have never spoken with him,” he told WWD.
