Video: The Kills Play the Top of the Standard While Olivia Wilde and Penn Badgley Talk Hair

It was a really good hair night at the Top of the Standard, where the Kills took the stage in front of a well-tousled crowd that included Olivia Wilde, Penn Badgley, Erin Wasson, and Alexa Chung. On a tiny stage, Alison Mosshart tossed her pink matted hair and thundered on her guitar, while Jamie Hince (aka Mr. Kate Moss) played alongside her, touching the heads of front row fans with the neck of his guitar.* Mosshart flirted with the crowd from atop an amp – particularly Derek Blasberg, it seemed, who was front and center by the end. With her creamy complexion and sultry style (especially when crooning a cover of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”), it’s safe to say Mosshart was totally working it. Check out the video below to see her go!

“She’s so sexy,” Wilde said after the show (hosted by DeLeon Tequila). “It’s unbelievable! She rocked it.” Speaking of, Wilde was rocking a new shoulder-length crop. “I did it for work, for a movie I’m shooting called Burt Wonderstone. It’s about magic, with Steve Carell. I’m open to anything for work. I went from here,” she said, gesturing to the middle of her bicep, “and for my next movie I’m cutting it all off.”

Badgley was feeling it, too. We asked whether playing Jeff Buckley in the upcoming biopic has rubbed off on his style at all. “It’s about the quieter, subtler, harder-to-express parts of that lifestyle,” he said thoughtfully, before adding: “But then at the same time, I’m growing my hair out just for shits and giggles, so maybe.”

*This post has been updated to show that Jamie Hince was playing guitar, not drums.
