While this may not be so much of a trend as it is a bizarre coincidence (after all, in the fashion world it takes the appearance of something three times or more to truly qualify as being “hot”), it’s noteworthy nonetheless. Rodarte and Diane von Furstenberg — two designers that couldn’t have more wildly different aesthetics — both used hand prints as a motif. While this isn’t exactly new — Comme des Garcons touched upon it in the past, as well as probably countless other labels back in the eighties — seeing something this specific in the span of two days has us unable to refrain from dreaming up many a hand pun.
