Louis Vuitton’s Hangover Part II Lawsuit Was Dismissed

Back in December, Louis Vuitton filed a trademark suit against Warner Bros. for featuring fake Louis Vuitton luggage in The Hangover Part II (which Zach Galifianakis calls “Lewis Vuitton,” har har). Warner Bros. not only refused to share any profits from the movie with Vuitton, but also turned down Vuitton’s request that they alter the LV logos for the DVD release. In March, the studio filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that the fake luggage was “artistically relevant” as part of a running joke in the movie, and on Friday the motion to dismiss was granted. So basically, the “running joke” just got much funnier.
