It’s hard to miss Anna Dello Russo. The Vogue Japan editor is immediately recognizable by her towering headgear, bright dresses, short skirts, and zany footwear — not to mention the swarm of street-style photographers clamoring to capture her wherever she goes. Considering Dello Russo’s penchant for the unique, it’s no surprise, then, to hear that her latest purchase is something couture. “The last thing that I bought was a Caterina Gatta dress,” she tells The Cut via email from Milan. “I wore this dress the first day of the men’s fashion week in June for the Jil Sander and Ermenegildo Zegna shows. I love this dress because the designer reuses vintage haute couture fabrics to make one unique dress. For this special dress I wore different accessories: a Philip Treacy for Alan Journo hat, Emilio Pucci green clutch, Santo Spirito 13 earrings, Ca&Lou bracelet, Bulgari watch, and YSL shoes. It’s the uniqueness of this dress that pushed me to buy it.”
