First lady Michelle Obama is on something of a media blitz this month. Last week she teased Olympic sweetheart Gabby Douglas on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, this week she’s serving as guest editor of the popular women’s site iVillage and next week she will tape a segment for The Dr. Oz Show, to air Sep. 14, according to the WSJReuters reports that although the first lady was “once wary of life on the political scene” she’s now being strategically deployed to swing states because she is “more popular than her husband — or anyone else.”

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney’s campaign is considering moving Ann Romney’s Republican National Convention speech to Tuesday, Politico reports, after it learned that the networks would not interrupt prime-time programming on Monday to cover her keynote speech at the convention’s kickoff. With the Republican party in the throes of a major PR crisis with female voters, it’s no wonder they’re scrambling to thrust Ann — already considered by some to be the best part of the GOP nominee’s personality — in front of as many eyeballs as possible.
