According to Le Figaro, lawyers for France’s “first lady” reached out to several tabloids, asking them not to publish photos of her and François Hollande in their swimsuits while on holiday. That didn’t stop VSD or Voici from putting the images on their covers; besides, doesn’t Valérie know taking a dip with the paparazzi and their telephoto lenses is a time-honored French tradition? At least Hollande wasn’t wearing beach jewelry. Oh, la honte.
