See 27 Pieces for Fall, Inspired by Rochas’s Nerd-Chic Woman

By Diana Tsui

For fall, the Rochas woman took its typical nerd-chic route, but this time, as Amy Larocca put it, the collection was “what a graduate student (dissertation on Roland Barthes) at the Sorbonne would wear in the world’s most stylish new wave French film.” Think chunky knits, rich gold-tinged prints, nubby trousers, and patent navy oxfords by day, and brocade sheath dresses paired with metallic heeled flats by night. While you’re probably not poring over S/Z, there’s much to be gained from pieces that are not only practical but add rich color to your wardrobe. Case in point: Loeffler Randall’s Rider bag can carry all of your daily essentials while Topshop’s gray cocoon coat offers ample room for layering during cold temperatures. Click through our slideshow to see items and more.
