As promised, the people of Nogent-sur-marne (east of Paris) took the blue tarp off of the controversial homage to the former French “first lady” over the weekend before an audience of several citizens, a dozen journalists, and a handful of activists — but not Carla Bruni herself, since she wasn’t invited. No big deal, though; Carla should be using this time to practice Charles Aznavour’s oeuvre for her TV appearance on Saturday, or to catch up on her Daily Mail–ing. Hey, look: The paper of record says Karl Lagerfeld set up Vanessa Paradis with Benjamin Biolay, and they’re recording a duet for his next album. Oh, Carla, you can’t get back under the tarp.
