Now in the third day of their Southeast Asia tour, the royal couple visited the Kranji War Cemetery in Singapore, where Duchess Catherine wore a dusty blue Jenny Packham dress — which was similar to the floral one she wore on the first day, in terms of its silhouette — and matching heels, which miraculously did not plunge into the dirt when she and Will ventured onto the lawn. They then jetted to Kuala Lumpur, where they arrived just in time for a lunch of exotic fruits with the prime minister.
After lunch, the couple went to Hospice Malaysia, a palliative care facility for terminally ill children. Here, Kate gave her first-ever foreign speech, which was basically the exact same as her first-ever public speech at the Treehouse Children’s Hospice in England, only with a few proper nouns swapped out (bravo all the same, though; you can see the full speech below). She and Will then joined the kids and played with clay.
Finally, Kate changed into a floor-length white gown by Alexander McQueen with gold floral embroidery for dinner with Head of State Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah of Kedah, where she and Will also received some bedazzled gifts. See the day’s highlights (including their clay creations!) in our slideshow.
