Margiela’s forthcoming 104-piece collection for H&M debuts in stores next month, but most of the line’s look book is now here for your perusal — and planning — so that when the inevitably crazed launch day comes, you have a better idea of what you need to grab from the shoppers stockpiling clothes to resell on eBay. True to Margiela’s form, the fourteen looks were shot headless — six more full ensembles remain under embargo, to be revealed next week — and represent reworkings of some of the label’s classic pieces, with clever, asymmetric draping and artfully oversize shapes throughout. Highlights (so far) include chunky jewelry, rich knits, and a fabulous pair of disco-ball leggings.
