Just in case you had any good vibes about the future of leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives left over from Nancy Pelosi’s spectacular biddy power presser earlier this month, the House Republican Steering Committee announced its latest slate of committee chairs — who will run influential groups likes the Appropriations and Ways and Means Committees — and, surprise, they’re all men. (Ogle the pasty bunch over at Politico.) Two women, Washington representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Kansas representative Lynn Jenkins, were, however, named chairwoman and vice-chairwoman, respectively, of the House Republican Conference, which we can only assume is, like, the party-planning committee. North Caroline representative Virginia Foxx will be their conference secretary. Ah, yes, secretary. That sounds right.
