Male Gaze: Donald Glover’s Got Quite a Smile

What can’t Donald Glover do? The actor most recently made a two-episode guest appearance on Girls playing Sandy, Hannah Horvath’s shiny new (and — spoiler alert — already ex) black Republican boy toy. But he also raps as Childish Gambino, a name bestowed upon him by the Wu-Tang name-generator gods; writes for television shows; performs stand-up comedy routines; and plays the ever-endearing Troy Barnes in Community. He even wrote and perfectly mimicked Tracy Morgan in 30 Rock’s viral hit “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah.” Though his time as Sandy was short-lived, we’re crossing our fingers that he’ll be making a return into the world where Cafe Grumpy exists. Perhaps he’ll use his real-life musical prowess to successfully woo Hannah back, unlike poor Adam. In the meantime, we’ll just be counting down the days until we’ll be guaranteed to see him flashing his mischievous smile and cracking adorable jokes with Abed on Community.
