Today in Offensive Fashion: Milan’s Gun-Themed Show

Fashion proved (once again) how painfully out of touch it can be with the rest of the world on Monday, with Philipp Plein’s fall 2013 menswear collection — worn by gun-wielding, gas-mask-wearing, war-painted, and balaclava-covered male models in Milan. A few shirtless gents were inked with phrases like, “Only kill for real love,” and, “Life’s a game and it’s not fair.”

If it were anyone other than Plein, we’d applaud him or her for trying to, uh, start a conversation about gun control. But the German designer, who contributed to Lindsay Lohan’s comeback, was responsible for Ed Westwick’s runway debut, and cast Terry Richardson and twin boys making out in his newest ad campaign, clearly has other things on his mind. Or nothing at all.
