Tilda Lindstam Is New York Fashion Week’s Top Model

As soon as the glowing orb set at Marc Jacobs, the Cut started to study the fall 2013 shows. And based on the number of opening and closing slots, the amount of runways strutted, and some formulae we may or may not remember from a semester of AP statistics in high school, we’ve determined that Tilda Lindstam is New York Fashion Week’s top model! The chameleon walked for 29 different designers (the most shows among her peers), and wore the first looks at Victoria Beckham and Suno, and the last outfits at Tommy Hilfiger and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.

Lindstam’s strongest competition came from Julia Nobis, who took turns on 22 catwalks and closed Proenza Schouler; and Sasha Luss, who nabbed nineteen gigs including an Alexander Wang semi-exclusive (we had a feeling Luss would be one to watch). But, truth be told, there wasn’t a Kati Nescher, New York fall 2012 (when she walked in 24 shows and opened or closed half of them) in the crowd; however, that gave a bunch of other girls the opportunity for face time. Click through our slideshow to see who else rounded out our list of winners.

We wondered how she would beat walking in 68 shows total for spring 2013; it turns out booking 29 shows in New York is the first step. The Swede hit nearly every big-deal runway — opening Victoria Beckham and Suno, and closing Tommy Hilfiger and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti — playing a different character for each designer.   Show list: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, BCBG Max Azria, Belstaff, Calvin Klein Collection, Derek Lam, Diesel Black Gold, DKNY, Donna Karan, Edun, J Brand, Jason Wu, Kenneth Cole Collection, Lacoste, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti (closed), Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, rag & bone, Reed Krakoff, Rodarte, Suno (opened), Tommy Hilfiger (closed), Tory Burch, and Victoria Beckham (opened). Sasha Luss (Women) Hey, we said Luss would be one to watch this season, and so far, she's been hard to miss. The Russian was a semi-exclusive for Alexander Wang, and after Saturday, she booked nineteen other shows — among them the opening slots at Tommy Hilfiger and Vera Wang, and the last look at Altuzarra.   Show list: Alexander Wang (semi-exclusive), Altuzarra (closed), Belstaff, Calvin Klein Collection, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Diesel Black Gold, Donna Karan, J Brand, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Proenza Schouler, Ralph Lauren, Reed Krakoff, Tommy Hilfiger (opened), Tory Burch, Vera Wang (opened), and Victoria Beckham. Julia Nobis (DNA) One of the most sought-after Julias in the industry, this Australian nailed it, booking 22 New York slots — including the openers at Edun and Philosophy, and the closers at Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang, and Victoria Beckham. Hedi Slimane scooped up Nobis for his spring 2013 Saint Laurent campaign, so we'll probably see her in a prime spot at that show, too.   Show list: Alexander Wang, Belstaff, Calvin Klein Collection, Derek Lam, Diesel Black and Gold, Donna Karan, Edun (opened), Helmut Lang, Jason Wu, Jill Stuart, Lacoste, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Narciso Rodriguez, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti (opened), Proenza Schouler (closed), rag & bone, Reed Krakoff, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang (closed), and Victoria Beckham (closed). In New York, the Frenchie walked in 23 shows, closing Marc by Marc Jacobs with an untamed mane.   Show list: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Altuzarra, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Diesel Black Gold, DKNY, Edun, Jason Wu, J. Mendel, Jill Stuart, Kenneth Cole, Lacoste, Marc by Marc Jacobs (closed), Marchesa, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Philosophy, Tadashi Shoji, Theyskens' Theory, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, and Victoria Beckham. Ashleigh Good (Ford) Discovered at a bus stop in Auckland, New Zealand, Good walked as an exclusive for Givenchy's fall/winter 2012 show. Since then, she's had a fair amount of work (and hair changes). This season, she appeared in sixteen New York shows, opening and closing for Kaufmanfranco. Fun fact: Good was one of Chanel's Haute Couture lesbian brides, so Karl will likely show her some love again in Paris.   Show list: Alexander Wang, Altuzarra, Cushnie et Ochs, Diesel Black and Gold, Donna Karan, ICB by Prabal Gurung, Kaufmanfranco (opened and closed), Narciso Rodriguez, Philosophy, Proenza Schouler, Reed Krakoff, Sophie Theallet, Suno (closed), Thakoon (opened), Theyskens' Theory, and Victoria Beckham. Cara Delevingne (Women) Everyone expected this Brit to be everywhere, and she was a lot of places — including at the front of the lineups for Diane von Furstenberg, DKNY, and Jeremy Scott. With fifteen New York shows behind her, she's set to dominate London (ah, the U.K. and its patriotism!), but let's hope, at least for Twitter's sake, that Harry Styles is nowhere to be seen.   Show list: Anna Sui, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg (opened), DKNY (opened), Jason Wu, Jeremy Scott (opened), Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, rag & bone, Rodarte, Tommy Hilfiger, and Tory Burch. Esther Heesch (Next) The 16-year-old made her runway debut at Dior's fall 2012 couture show, and for the spring 2013 season, she booked a total of twenty slots at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. This season — her first time walking in New York — Esther has turned up on twenty runways, opening 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diesel Black Gold, and rag & bone, and closing Reed Krakoff. We hope Grandma Heesch was able to live-stream some of them.   Show list: 3.1 Phillip Lim (opened), Altuzarra, BCBG Max Azria, Belstaff, Calvin Klein Collection, Diesel Black Gold (opened), DKNY, Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole Collection, Lacoste, Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, rag & bone (opened), Reed Krakoff (closed), Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, and Vera Wang. Katya Ryabinkina (Supreme) After Katya opened and closed Calvin Klein's pre-fall 2013 show, we could feel it in our (actual) guts that she'd have a bang-up season. For her first New York Fashion Week, she was semi-exclusive for Alexander Wang — meaning she couldn't walk for any other designers before his Saturday show — and she still took turns on fifteen runways total, opening Belstaff, and closing Derek Lam, Marchesa, and Tory Burch.   Show list: Alexander Wang (semi-exclusive), Altuzarra, Belstaff (opened), Calvin Klein Collection, Derek Lam (closed), Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, J Brand, J. Manon Leloup (Wilhelmina) Last season, Manon walked in 31 shows — eight in New York, eight in Milan ... and fifteen in Paris, where she booked major names like Alexander McQueen, Céline, Stella McCartney, Miu Miu, and Valentino. This time around, New York's casting directors took note, placing her on twenty runways, including Altuzarra, where she opened.   Show list: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Altuzarra (opened), BCBG Max Azria, Belstaff, Calvin Klein Collection, Creatures of the Wind (closed), Donna Karan, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Milly by Michelle Smith (opened), Oscar de la Renta, Prabal Gurung, rag & bone, Ralph Lauren, Richard Chai Love, Suno, Thakoon, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, and Yigal Azrouël. Nastya Kusakina (Women) The Fanning look-alike was an exclusive for Jil Sander's fall 2012 show, Raf Simons's final outing for the brand. She walked again for Raf on his first Dior Couture runway, and had a solid spring 2013 season — 37 shows total, with a dozen in New York. This New York season, she booked seventeen slots, including the opener at Oscar de la Renta. Yes, that's her underneath the black cloche hat. And, yes, Galliano probably taught her how to wear it.   Show list: 3.1 Phillip Lim, BCBG Max Azria, Helmut Lang, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Kenneth Cole Collection, Marc by Marc Jacbos, Oscar de la Renta (opened), Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, Prabal Gurung, Ralph Lauren, Suno, Tadashi Shoji (closed), Theyskens' Theory, Vera Wang, Y-3, Yigal Azrouel, and Zac Posen. Daria Strokous (Women) Though she only walked in ten shows, they were the shows to walk in. And the 22-year-old Moscow native both opened and closed Ralph Lauren — the coveted double whammy among the preppy set.   Show list: Altuzarra, Anna Sui, Belstaff, Donna Karan (opened), Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung (closed) Ralph Lauren (opened and closed), and Rodarte.
