Zoom on This: Michael Kors, J. Mendel, and More

Another day of shows means another set of gorgeous details worth zooming into. The mood was decidedly sporty this morning at Michael Kors with perforated leather and hefty doses of camouflage — but it was the closing number that was the most eye-catching as Karlie Kloss sauntered in a mullet gown encrusted with hundreds of gigantic rhinestones. Over at Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, the debut of Central St. Martins alum Natalie Ratabesi as head designer meant youthful looks styled with colorful calf-high socks. One standout was a psychedelic swirled parka and matching skirt — a colorful way to keep warm during even the coldest winter days.

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Honor got into the festive spirit with hearts everywhere, from the beading to the brocade fabrics: Look closely and you’ll see them scattered throughout the bodice of this halter dress. And finally, at J. Mendel, the French designer drew inspiration from Guy Bourdin with slinky dresses that revealed bits of skin through slashes and plunging necklines. One dress was rendered in royal blue organza cloqué, a fabric featuring an embossed pattern that resembles lace from afar, but is more complex upon closer inspection. Click ahead to see all of these and the other zooms of the week.
