The 50 Best Shoes of Fashion Month Street Style

After a month packed with shows across four cities, you’d think that the fashion set would throw in the towel and wear sneakers by the time Paris rolls around. But not even snowstorm after snowstorm could deter stylish attendees from breaking out their fanciest (and sometimes least-weather-friendly) shoes for photographers across the fashion weeks. Kicking off in New York, Lily Kwong was snapped in a pair of vertiginous Lanvin metal wedges while Nemo drove a few practical showgoers to opt for neon Sperry Topsider x Jeffrey New York snow boots. If you were wondering who would dare wear Prada’s interpretation of the traditional Japanese geisha sandals known as geta, that would be Anna Dello Russo — she also snagged Fendi’s furry ankle boots right after they walked the runways in Milan.

For any aspiring street-style star, take note that wearing Valentino or Balenciaga seems to increase the likelihood of being stopped for a photograph. They were the top two shoe designers of choice, with Céline and Nicholas Kirkwood not far behind. Considering the average price of a designer heel hovers around $1,000, click ahead to see what a collection of shoes worth approximately $50,000 looks like. These are the 50 best ones we saw.
