For its latest collaboration, the retailer asked costume designer Heidi Bivens to put together a capsule collection inspired by writer and director Harmony Korine’s forthcoming movie, Spring Breakers. According to a press release, the “movie follows four college girls named Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Cotty (Rachel Korine), and Faith (Selena Gomez) to Florida for their annual spring break. To finance their trip, they successfully rob a fast-food joint with squirt guns. When a motel party that they attend is raided, the girls are arrested and jailed. They are surprised when a local thug named Alien (James Franco) inexplicably appears to bail them out. Taking the girls under his wing, Alien introduces them to a Florida that is darker and wilder than they could have imagined.” According to the movie’s trailer, I had a relatively tame spring break experience, and I’m always “going to be thinking, Hmm, maybe I missed something out there.”

Opening Ceremony assigned each of the five main characters specific symbols — a glow-in-the-dark alien (Alien), a pair of green dolphins (Brit), a pink marijuana leaf (Candy), hot pink dripping ice cream cones (Cotty), and an inverted purple cross (Faith) — that are printed on sweatshirts, jerseys, bikinis, beach towels, and bandannas, priced from $20 to $90. There are also “HARMONY” and “SPRING BREAK 4EVER BITCHES” bracelets. The full collection hits Opening Ceremony stores in New York and Los Angeles and the Internet March 22.
