Around 10 p.m. last night in London, three unidentified men crashed a black Mercedes through the wall of Gucci’s Sloane Street flagship store and proceeded to make off with about 50 handbags (approximately). They abandoned the wrecked Mercedes, which is believed to have been stolen, and escaped in a blue Audi A4, the BBC reports. No suspects have been named, and the police have yet to make any arrests.

Gucci hasn’t yet commented on the robbery, but on the bright side, at least the thieves left behind a nice car. Imagine if they’d had left a Hyundai parked in their front window instead (shudder)! Weirdly, a different group of men used a similar ram-raid tactic to burgle the same store back in 2010, but they have since been caught and jailed (of note: They used cheaper vehicles). Perhaps Gucci should invest in car-proofing measures.
