“I hate that phrase,” she remarks in this week’s issue of Net-a-Porter’s The Edit. “The worst thing is I might have had something to do with its invention. I was 30 on the cover of People and there it was in the headline. A little chill went up my back: there’s no such thing, and to tell women there might be is bad. Anything that creates pressure on women is bad.” Aside from loathing having it all, Hutton dislikes “silly shoes” and those unable to walk properly in them, adding, “I used to live on the Bowery when it was crack city, and I’d never go out in heels unless I had done The Test: standing on one heel, whipping off the other and holding it up to someone’s head in three seconds.”
