Matthew McConaughey Isn’t Going to Tell Justin Bieber to Put on a Shirt

During an interview to promote Mud, an MTV News reporter asked Matthew McConaughey whether he considers oft-topless Justin Bieber his heir apparent or undeserving of the title. McConaughey responded: “Well, he keeps doing it in airports though, right?” And the anchor took it to mean he thought the Biebs should keep clothed in some of the filthiest places on the planet. “No, no, no, no, no … I’m not saying you’ve got to wear a shirt in an airport, especially, I think, he’s flying private, he can wear what he wants,” McConaughey clarified. Are there places where it might be, say, unacceptable to step out sans popped-collar polo? “[It’s] appropriate wherever you say it’s appropriate. It’s your shirt.” And your breakdown! Own it.
