Starting tomorrow, for the first time ever in New York City Ballet history, the company’s specially made costumes, tutus, photographs, ballet shoes, and more will go on sale, in a partnership with One Kings Lane. Items include a book signed by the entire NYCB company, tutus (with the dancer’s names sewn inside), and rare, delicate costumes that principal dancers have worn while leaping across the stage in a grand jeté, gracefully walking around stage en pointe, or spinning fluidly in pirouettes. Also among the ballet bounty include worn-out shoes signed by principal dancers Maria Kowroski, Ana Sophia Scheller, and Wendy Whelan. Click through the slideshow to catch a first glimpse of the decadent gear.
